adidas 'The Collective Pack'
The adidas Rivalry and adidas Conductor are beloved trainers in hip-hop culture. Introduced in 1986, the trainers have established themselves as classics both on and off the basketball court. To celebrate hip-hop's 50th anniversary, adidas is collaborating with a 'Collective' - an exclusive group consisting of different sneaker collectors and curators known to the scene.
The pack comes with the adidas Rivalry Low 86 and the adidas Conductor Hi silhouette. The trainers come with special OG details and use high-quality materials, including premium suede, snakeskin elements and gold accents. Designed by and for trainer lovers.
adidas Rivalry Low 86
The adidas Rivalry Low 86 in the 'Clay Strata' colorway is based on the original technology of the 1986 Rivalry model. The sneaker comes with a premium suede upper, Italian-embossed leather overlays, gold accents and a special NYC Underground keychain.
adidas Conductor Hi
The second silhouette, the adidas Conductor Hi in the colorway 'Scarlet', features a white with blue and red colorway - a nod to the '79 NBA season when the Knicks changed their team colours. The trainer has a game-ticket-inspired tongue tag and a full-grain leather upper.
The Conductor Hi also comes with a NYC Underground-inspired keychain and three different laces.
'The Collective'
Both trainers were designed by a group of four creative minds from the sneaker industry. They include: Julia Schoierer, better known as 'Sneakerqueen', a photographer from Berlin who advocates for more diverse representation of women in the sneaker world. On her blog sneakerqueen.de and Instagram, she shares her passion for trainers.
Ernst-Heinrich Beckmann, also known as Erniepunk, has partnered with adidas for many years and helped bring back several OG models. With his extensive archive of basketball shoes and broad knowledge about trainers and the culture surrounding them, he has been an important name in sneaker culture for years.
Tommy Triggah, officially Tom Römer, is also part of 'The Collective' and is a connoisseur of streetwear and trainers. With a keen eye for detail and appreciation for artistic expression, the Dutch curator already has several collabs to his name and is a familiar face in the community.
Scott Frederick, founder of the website Defynewyork.com, is the fourth member of 'The Collective'. Frederick's website has twice been named one of the best trainer websites in the world.
